Help! Rootworm or Corn Borer in my flowerbed 2011/07/24 05:36 Karma: 0
One of my plant is dying due to some white color maggots the size of the pinky drilling through the root bulb and stem. I think it is either a rootworm or corn borer as I identified in my web search. It happens really quick and after a week or so, half of it was dead. When I dig up the root bulb, there are multiple of these worms insides... disgusting... I tried to find some pesticide but was told that due to the Ontario garden chemical ban, there is now nothing I can do or buy. Is this true? Is my only option to go down to Buffalo for some good stuff? I'm sure that I cannot rescue the dying plant but afraid that this will spread all over to the other plants. Please help if you have similar experience or know how to deal with it. Thanks a lot in advance.
