iPhone/iPhoto prefs won't stick. 2011/03/23 08:08 Karma: 0
I've read all the instructions on how to set iPhoto to "no application" to keep it from opening when you plug in your iPhone. I've also read lots of instructions about doing that in Image Capture as well.

I've done both, and NOTHING WORKS. Every time I plug in the iPhone, it opens iPhoto. I go go the prefs again, and they have reset, telling it to open when the iPhone is attached. I open Image Capture, and it has reset itself as well.

Is this a known bug? I've searched around here for a while, and it seems that the prefs change always works for everyone else. I wish to God it would work for me...

Should I start trashing pref files? If so, will this wreak havoc on my large-ish iPhoto library?

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I already deleted the plist and rebuilt the library. No luck. I can do the same edits in Photoshop, but I like how it works in iPhoto quickly. iPhoto is the only app I use in the iLife suite, so if this doesn't work it's kind of a waste.

I generally don’t have anything in Login Items. Of course, I rarely every restart or logout, and if I do it is no big deal to just run the applications as I need them.

Thanks,
