WSOP 2026/01/24 14:29 Karma: 1
Is it me or are the number of bracelets to be won just getting out of hand?

Well I guess you do have a point there, but the game has become so insanely popular, it only makes sense to have more tournaments. So more tournaments equals more bracelets.

That's true. Now though the real poker pros don't consider the main event as the WSOP to be representative of the world champion. They consider the winner of the HORSE tournament which consists of many types of poker to be the best in the world.

That true? I had no idea. My dream is still to win the main event at WSOP. I can see though why the HORSE event is looked upon as true champion because being able to play all of those different types of poker to a world class standard is going to be trickier than just knowing no limit hold em.

Most WSOP and WPT tournaments are open to the public so anyone can enter them. They have the occasional invitation only tournaments but for the most part if you can put up the dough you are in. WPT tournaments usually have a buy-in of 5,000 to 10,000. Most WSOP tournaments run during the month of February in Vegas with buyins starting as low as 1,000 and ending with the main event with a 10,000 buy-in.
