The largest buy-in event of the Aussie Millions kicked off on January 12th and saw some of the biggest names in poker gather around three tables to take part in the $100,000 No-Limit Texas Hold ‘Em event. The 25 entrants created a $2.5 million prize pool, to be divided amongst the top 5 finishers with $1.25 million set aside for the top prize. The event was structured pot-limit pre-flop, but no limit post-flop. The final heads up play however was all no limit. 2026 champion Erick Lindgren was looking to repeat his performance and headed into the final eight in a strong position. Alas, lightening did not strike twice, and he was eventually taken out by Michael Sampoerna in 6th place which meant unfortunately also just missing out on the money. The final heads up battle took place between Mark Teltscher and Howard Lederer who had been consistently increasing his chip stack throughout the final table. It took only one hour for Lederer to sweep to victory and claim the second largest prize fund in the Aussie Million’s history.
