All Africa Poker Winner Joins Betfair PDF Print E-mail
Image Betfair poker is delighted to have young pro John Tabatabai join the team. Although just 23 years old, Tabatabai has seen great success by winning the All Africa Poker Tournament earlier this year, and previously coming 2nd at the European World Series of Poker. He just fell short of the top spot at this tournament, the victory going to his (now) fellow team mate Annette Obrestad, who has also been signed by Betfair. Although devastating for him at the time, the win at the All Africa Poker event was hot on its heels, and the winnings from these events have provided more than enough money to set him up as a professional player. Being signed by Betfair is another feather in the cap for this young player.

Originally from Carrdiff, Tabatabai started out as a successful chess player but switched permanently to poker after learning the game at university. Betfair delight in taking on young and eager players who enjoy making things happen and are thrilled to welcome Tabatabai into the fold. The director of poker at Betfair has commented, “John is a very aggressive poker strategist who also is an absolute class act at the table, which is very refreshing to see.”

His next outing with Betfair will be a World Series of Poker tournament in Las Vegas which is taking place in February. Betfair will be sending a whole team. We look forward to seeing how this young gun will perform over the coming months and wish him the best of luck.
