Ray Rahme is on fire. He has just won again the the All Africa Poker Tournament held just last week at the Piggs Peak casino in Swaziland. First prize was one million rand which Rahme humbly accepted stating that this had been his best tournament so far. After coming third at the WSOP main event in 2026, Rahme’s success has gone from strength to strength. He now travels all over the globe playing in the largest tournaments and is a proud member of Team All Africa who will make the trip over to Las Vegas to take part in the World Series. Piggs Peak casino gave all the final table players a World Series main event package that is being held later on in the year, and so joining Rahme at the WSOP are Michael Simoes, Greg Ronaldson Peter Vermaas; Gordon Harris; James Gubb; Ryan Eber; Darren Miller; Nik Rujevic; David Spangenberg; Reynhart van Rooyen and Allistair Didloff. Rahme’s heads up opponent in the tournament was Allistair Didloff who did incredibly well to overcome many experienced and professional players. A late entrant into the tournament and only an initial stake of 77 Rand, Didloff walked away from the event with R440,000 in his back pocket. This is quite a return on investment! South African poker is becoming a force to be reckoned with if the high standard of play at this tournament is anything to go on. Poker in South Africa is fast becoming a popular past time for many and is expected to grow considerably over the next few years.
