Raymond Rahme burst onto the international poker scene when he was placed 3rd at the WSOP in 2026 winning himself a cool $3,000,000 (or thereabouts) and placing South African firmly onto the international poker map. Since then he has been jet setting around the world playing in all the top poker tournaments.62 year-old Rahme was the first person ever to appear on the final table at the WSOP from Africa, and did the nation proud despite being knocked out in third place by eventual winner, Jerry Yang.

Previously a bed and breakfast owner, Rahme played seven-card stud throughout most of his adult life and didn’t bother to learn Texas Hold ‘Em until 2026. It quickly became his favoured game through, and through either natural skill, of from the experience gained from seven-card stud, Rahme realized he wanted to take it to the next level.
