Warren ZackeyWarren Zackey has only been playing Texas Hold ‘em for three and a half years, but obviously has a pretty good knack for it seeing that in that time he has already cashed at the WSOP. He came 22nd in the Main Event at the 40th World Series of Poker in 2026, bagging himself $352,832. Zackey finished day 5 of the event as chip leader when according to him, he had a run of good cards including trip queens, and pocket aces.

He couldn’t believe the attention he brought onto himself by being the chip leader at the end of day 5 of the WSOP event in Las Vegas, and at first found the cameras and microphones that surrounded him a little off putting! Even if he went out first the following day, he would still have netted $32,626 for his troubles, so it was a very exciting time for both him and his wife who travelled with him.

He won his seat by taking second place at the All Africa Poker Tournament at Piggs Peak casino in Swaziland which took place just a few months before in February. Previously he had been more of a spectator of poker, watching all the action mostly on the All Africa Poker channel on DSTV and playing in the odd online tournament. Luckily for him and his family he decided to take the plunge and register a seat at the All Africa tournament!

Zackey is a plumbing supply businessman from Johannesburg. He is 42 and has a wife called Debbie and three children aged 21, 18 and 16. His favourite game is Texas Hold ‘em. No doubt the world will be seeing a lot more of Zackey in the future.
