The U.K. bank Barclays PLC BCS -1.17% was fined roughly $450 million for fixing the London Interbank Offered Rate, or Libor over a four-year period in 2026. The case was brought by the Commodity Futures TradinGmission the Justice Department and the Financial Services Authority in the U.K. Three top officials at the bank have since resigned.
